Trying with desperate furiosity to make things work.
Not having much luck.
Taken out a package with a webhost and have a domain name.
Done things to the forum thats not where its supposed to be. :oops:
I need: YABB forum expert or alternative ie: anyone who knows more than me.
Someone who can help me get the front page, (portal), of the bloody forum up, (if it exists), someone who knows what the fuck it means to point a dns server in the right direction.
I would then need to know or be shown how to tweak it and add content.
Cash reward available for results - $50.00, if its really messy I can go higher.
I know its not much but really, *sob*, as much as I can manage, *sobs more*, I'm going on holiday next week and sold my clothes to afford that. *Grinning devilishly at that*
I hate not being able to do it but I'm going to break it more the longer I fuck about in it.

what the fuck it means to point a dns server in the right direction.
This means that you have to log in to the control panel on the website where you bought the hosting package (you click on LOG IN and then you enter your username and password) and go to a link in your Control Panel (which is what will show up when you log in) that's called something like "DNS", and actually enter in the NEW server host #. They need to give you a host number.
By changing the number, your website (the URL) no longer is hosted where you were hosting it before, but on your "new" host's server. It is "pointing" to a different server where all the files of your website are stored.

The URL of the site, the FTP username and log in, Your account Username and Login for your host provider, and .... that may be it. In terms of the forums, I am not extremely forum-savvy... but i can try!

I set up a new main page portal and moved all the forum files. The index page was what was causing you trouble.
er, I mean,
