Video Games as Films
i went to see both TOMB RAIDER movies. i was happy they played like a cross between james bond and indiana jones, but with a female action hero. not bad at all.
i enjoyed RESIDENT EVIL 2 only because mike epps and milla jovovich were in it. i agree with heidi...part 1 was better.
to me, the concept of turning video games into movies seems to be one that is purely motivated by the almighty dollar. a game sells well, so they figure they can knock out a PG-13 film version and it'll make a mint. they forget that watching someone play a game isn't as fun as playing it yourself.
how long before the 'grand theft auto' game is a movie? anyone know?
and please someone explain to me why they keep giving uwe boll money to make movies.
I was rather pleasantly surprised by DOOM... did anyone catch that? It was in theaters for about 3 minutes. I watched it on DVD and enjoyed it a lot. It has the same feel as the original Resident Evil film.
Now, Bloodrayne II just came out and I can't quite bring myself to watch it yet. And I am really not sure if I am going to see Resident Evil: Extinction.
Can I be in it? I want to play a character named "Elle" who won't go out with another character because he's a "square".
But the problem is that the original Russian version of this film (I don't know if you've seen it) is that I have heard critics say it goes on and on and gets really frustrating after, like, the first half hour, and then everything happens really really fast and the whole thing falls apart and then ends abruptly.

But you must admit...the soundtrack kicked all kinds of ass.

Oddly enough, my favorite Video Game movie is Street Fighter. It is so cheesey, that I can't help but love it. Almost all the others I hated, or was indifferent to.
