"'I go from a demure co-ed to a whip-cracking dominatrix from hell. There are savage, scale-eyed zombies, virgin sacrifices and demonic possessions, and when I turn into a gorgeous, va-voom woman I say the line I've always wanted to say, 'Behold the new queen of hell!' And I say it with relish.'- Brinke Stevens on Teenage Exorcist"
Pretty Scary Hall of fame
What would the criterion be for the Hall of Fame? I mean is it a ..."This month Amy's in, this month Sally's in" kinda thing or is it for Rochon, Stevens, and that group? Or for the Hammer Glamour girls? or Women who actually make the films... produce... direct etc...? Or, is it just a woman who blazed a path of SOME kind in the film industry?
What would a woman have to have done to be in the PS hall O fame?
That's a really good question, Jimmy.
I'd like to see what the requirements for the Music Hall of Fame are, or the people who achieve Lifetie Achievment Awards during the Oscars, and sort of base it off of that but for horror movie standards. I don't think itshould be limited to actors directors, or anything.. Just anyone in horror. Who has done something GREAT. And I think it should be very hard to get into.... otherwsie it won't mean anything...
Bullshit. I would be proud to abduct you FilmGal.
Heidi.. after you and your troops put your heads togetheron this, and figure out what you want to do, I would be glad to crate and produce certificates that you could actually send out to the women, if they are alive, so that they know of the appreciation.
Sorry Andrew, this is the cake I think they should serve instead:

Jessica
wait.. wasn't this a thread about Hall of fame people?
So Heidi.... what are the standards? Who do YOU think would be the first woman to be given this award?
Also.. who will decide who's nomitated... and then who votes? Is there voting or is it something you and Amy, and others PS admins whould just decide? I mean it's your site, that is perfectly acceptable. You don't NEED outside input... which I think is an oxymoron anyway. Isn't it?
am I over thinking this?
Here's another question. See this emoticon  how do you think those 2 do that with out just rolling off one another?
lets make a story:
These two meet at a bar: 8O
They get wasted, then go home and fuck:
The girl's husband comes home to find them in bed...:
Then, he tortures the girl and makes her a twisted serial killer's fantasy of barbed wire and doll parts: :!: , there are strange, mutilated images and mannequins portraying female beauty all over the basement where he keeps her
and mutilated male imagery, as well
, insinuating that the killer has a strange feeling of inadequacy about his maleness, which prompts him to go over the edge.
Two cops burst in on the scene, and are so disgusted at what they find...
that they can't even file a report.
OKOKOOKOK...
I'd like to VOTE on who gets into the Hallof fame. I'd like the admins to pick 5 women who are eligible, and then have a huge vote like the RONDO awards, of who gets abducted, er, inducted, into the hall....
I'd like to induct 1 woman every 6 months....
What do you guys think? should we induct three a year, and vote once a year? should we only do one a year? Life might be too short for that..... INPUT helps, lol
Ok nominations
Jamie Lee Curtis
Kathryn Ann Bigelow
Mary Harron
Debra Hall
Linda Hamilton
Debbie Rochon
Diana Peñalver
Janet Goldstien
Selma Hayek
Angela Basset
Sigourney Weaver
I mean do we need to establish that they need to do ONLY horror movies or can they do other genres that have other serious subgenres like sci-fi, cyberpunk, comic book based movies? I mean how should we go about this because I notice Heidi since I joined you do intervies about comic books, cyberpunk, sci-fi, and a lot genre things so should we honor that too or no? Or since we are horror just stick to horror?
this is a great idea. I think one nomination factor should definitely be longevity in the industry. It's easy to forget pretty faces and women behind the scenes have always been overlooked. If they've been in the industry for say 20 years or something, I would say they worked pretty darn and deserve some recognition.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Nice way to give us a teaser from your upcoming book, too, if you inducted a female horror director at some point.
Pretty Scary should put someone in the hall of fame once a month, at the same time that you post the Stud of the Month. Then we'd be the perfect reverse of all the hundreds of other media venues out there, which endlessly celebrate the sex appeal of women and the accomplishments of men.
Ah, irony...
