Their site has been down for over a week. Does anyone have any idea what's happening with it?

I remember right after I graduated from film school, indie filmmaking site were all the rage and there were dozens of them - all highly trafficed too. Now there's hardly any left. What's happening to them all?

jessica,

chris sharpe is on myspace, i should write him and ask. i noticed the domain name has lapsed or something.

far as i know, this came out of nowhere. the site has struggled ever since jason santo's departure a couple years ago, and while chris and john (dalton) have kept it going , i think chris's filmmaking projects have forced MCS to take a backseat. perhaps it just wasn't generating the traffic it once did.

I wrote for them back in 2004. I liked everyone there, jason and John, quite a bit.

Chris also runs CinemaEye, right? or is that defunct now as well?

i did reviews at MCS for awhile also. i remember jason sent me this huge box of screeners when he left, stuff he had yet to review. i met him in cleveland (the same weekend i met jessica) in 2004. very nice guy.

as far as i know, chris doesn't do cinema eye anymore. if i had to take a guess, i'd say hosting MCS became cost prohibitive.
