the bride is made with a wood/wire/celluclay base, sculpted with paper clay, and then painted, dressed, etc. OH MY GOD MY BLOODY PUMPKIN. i made the two pumpkins today, they are fake pumpkins spraypainted and then decorated. the bloody one makes me really happy because i used a triple-thick glaze that i use a lot and it made it look fucking luscious and wet. my job is fun this time of year.
(other sculptures are studio by sculpey clay)

the bride is simply GORGEOUS. It's something out of an animated film. It's that good. You're a very talented sculptress.

thanks! i've actually been thinking about fucking around with animation lately but i have a sneaking suspicion that it takes much more discipline than is available to me during a 43hr work week, you know?

i'm partial to the bloody pumpkin.

animation is very time consuming, and if you don't lock your camera down, you're screwed. but there are a lot of cool new types of software that make the whole process a lot easier.

see, it just seems like a bad idea considering that i would probably convince myself that the only way to do it is with actual film and no software at all. i'm an asshole.

you could do it with still photography, no video involved. but it'd be quite tedious no matter what. i could never go back to editing the old way.

but i'm sayinnnnnnnn i would want to use an actual camera and develop myself and the time spent in a darkroom would kill me. i don't like darkrooms.

You would die of a vitamin D deficiency, rachael, so don't! also, you would have to give up all the rest of your life.

But I'll bet it'd end up awesome and you'd get a huge cult following for the movie.
