I used to watch shows just because there was nothing else on, but over the past couple of years (especially as reality shows have run rampant) I've been cutting way back, and if a new season doesn't hold my attention for 3 episodes, I'm out (sorry Bionic Woman...maybe next time).

So now I'm down to (not counting news):

Family Guy
Pushing Daisies
30 Rock
The Office
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Ohio State football
The Shield
Lost

So what shows do you watch religiously?

before we got tivo the only show i used to set the VCR for was saturday night live. tivo is the only reason i even started following any shows.

my wife's steady diet of anime kinda dominates most of the tivo's attention, but i have a few that it records for me. if i'm watching anything it's usually a DVD, but here are the current shows i try not to ever miss:

saturday night live
daily show
30 rock
medium
south park

it also records reruns of stuff i love and like to watch just anytime:

sanford & son
all in the family
good times

Futurama
American Dad
South Park
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Spongebob Squarepants (yes, yes I do)

and I watch particular channels like the learning channels, discovery, and court TV.

I mostly read and listen to music... and draw.

still funnier than anything currently on 'adult swim'. i'm not counting SEALAB 2021 because it's been over for years and VENTURE BROS which is currently off air (but coming back for season 3...yesss!!!)

It's nice to see that people are watching 30 Rock. My cousin Katie has a job on that show.

I don't watch as much t.v. like I used to, but I always like to catch episodes of Law and Order, especially Crime Victims Unit with the incredible Vincent D'Nofrio. I love that character he plays. Laughing out loud

I don't really watch much tv. Movies, yes. TV, not really.

I like the MonstersHD channel on Dish, but lately their schedule and movie rotation has been all funked up.

My tivo does catch a few shows for me. And when I'm bored I'll watch 'em. I like:

The Piano Guy - cuz I'm a dork who loves learning to play piano

Everybody Loves Raymond - cuz I'm a married dork who finally "got" the humor after being married

TBS - cuz I'm a sit-com dork (Seinfeld, Friends, Raymond, Just Shoot Me, etc.)

South Park - cuz I'm a dork who likes to see Cartman cuss out his friends

The Colbert Report - cuz I'm a dork who thinks he's funny

Reaper - cuz I'm... just a dork

I hope the writers get themselves a good deal and soon. I miss Reaper. Sad

Oh good. I'm not the only dork who likes Reaper. Laughing out loud

I've seen all but the pilot. I've considered getting it from iTunes but I was hoping the CW would replay it. I don't think they have unless my tivo missed it. And I agree about the devil's daughter story arc. The only thing missing from the show is a solid, recurring villain. The devil is too cool to be the villain; they need someone/thing else.

30 Rock is the best comedy on Tv right now, In My Opinion.. I also dig The Soup, Monsterquest on Animal Planet, Family Guy reruns, A Haunting on Lifetime, and am SO into Battlestar Galactica (the new one) that Stacie got me into on DVD.

tina fey just got a golden globe for '30 rock' - - she rules, man! that show is far and away the funniest on tv. i'm glad it's getting the ratings. i try to make all my friends tune in for it. tina's humor is very specific. i died when someone complimented her necklace, and she said, "it was a rape whistle that broke..."

not only the line, or the very idea (rape whistles are referenced often in the show), but also how she delivered it.

another show i'm digging is 'how to look good naked' on lifetime. the host is annoying but i love the premise and i get to indulge my naked fat girl jones with every episode.

30 Rock is brilliant. I love how the basic plot is nice and tight...but the comedy comes from 800 different directions. It's so quick and full of wit, nothing has come close to that since M.A.S.H.

At the other end of the spectrum, but equally as brilliant is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". It's so dark and brutal, and every one of the characters is so completely vile that there shouldn't be anything funny here at all. Oh, but there is...there is indeed. You just have to shelve any preconceived notion of what should be funny in the context of living in a somewhat civilized society and what actually IS funny at a molecular level. It's a show that sometimes is best to watch alone...it has so many of those moments where you might stifle a laugh if someone else is in the room.

Nothing religiously. Depends when I get home and if I'm in the mood to veg out. When they switch to all HD-if they ever do-I won't be watching any most likely.

Arrested development had that kind of Philadelphia vibe to it...

I miss that show.

I am surprised to not see more The Office fans...

It's really good in a gently absurdist way. I hope it comes out on DVD.

Arrested Development is one of those rare shows that I could sit and watch for hours on end...and laugh my ass off the whole way through.

we only recently got cable but we probably should have just gotten internet because neither one of us remembers that the cable is even there, and on the off-chance that we do, it's terribly dissappointing. fear-net fucked me in the ass! i was so psyched and it's so b-a-d.

but, we rent some shows if we think we'll like em. greatest hits are six feet under, the l word (don't even, those lesbians are fabulous), dexter, the bbc office, and battlestar galactica which we're both really ashamed about liking.

I hardly ever watch TV. I do watch Lost religiously, and I'll watch 2 - 3 episodes of Survivor at a time on On Demand. Other than that, when I happen to be in the mood for watching tv, I usually watch Pinks or whatever else might be on the Speed network.

Down to 2.5 hours per week now:

30 Rock
Kath & Kim (Selma Blair is a freekin' riot in this show)
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Shield (only 4 episodes left in the series)

Lately we've been catching up on episodes of Smallville at dinner. We're about a 1/4 of the way through season 3.
