"'Blondes make the best victims. They’re like virgin snow that shows up the bloody footprints.' - Alfred Hitchcock"
Mr. July: Trent Haaga
Trent Haaga is hot. He doesn't know it though, so don't tell him or he'll become a jerk. Both crazy horror film geek and family man all rolled into one, Trent is the sweet, yet sick, aspect of Scary Studdom. He's really good at pulling off the 'white trash' look that all women secretly have the huge hots for. Blond, blue-eyed Trent resides in Southern California where he has recently participated in such films as Legend of the Sandsquatch, Black Dahlia, and his latest, Easter Bunny! Kill!! Kill!!. Oh yeah, and he was part of a few little productions called The Toxic Avenger IV and Terror Firmer. More Trent after these three dots...

Like he says, he's from Kentucky. What did you expect?
Describe your best and worst qualities:
Best quality: I'm a loyal, hard-working, horror loving
Dad of the highest order.
Worst quality: My whole "I refuse to 'sell out' (I'm
mean, really, what does that mean?) because it's me
versus the world" attitude - I think that it holds me
back a lot of the time . . .
What are your turn-ons?
Wit. Lust for life. Motivation. Free parking
What are your turn-offs?
Extreme vanity. Ego. Spendthrifts. Parking
enforcement.

The 3 faces of Trent: you know, for Birthday parties and Bat Mitzvahs.
What film are you most proud of as an actor? As a
writer?
I'd have to say that my role in TERROR FIRMER was a
great time, a great character, and kicked me off.
SUBURBAN NIGHTMARE gave me a chance to try something
different, but some folks thought I sucked in it . . .
As for writing, I think that FEEDING THE MASSES was an
interesting idea with some new spins on something
that's been done a billion times before. I've got a
new script shooting in October (currently titled
DEADGIRL but we're having some legal issues with
Lakeshore Entertainment so who knows what the final
title will be) that is the best thing I've written.
Hopefully the film turns out okay!

Obligatory "Scary Stud With a Gun" Picture that we have in every stud layout. Totally hot.
Can you tell us a little about your upcoming
projects?
I just wrapped Scott Phillips' GIMME SKELTER and
another film called LEGEND OF THE SANDSQUATCH. Also
have RAVING MANIACS, GaG, BLACK DAHLIA, and LIVING &
DYING in various states of post-production. I Produced
and acted in a cool little film called EASTER BUNNY,
KILL! KILL! and we're about two weeks away from being
totally finished and shopping for distributors and I'm
pretty thrilled with how it turned out. You can check
out the EBKK trailer and become our friend on Myspace
at: www.myspace.com/easterbunnykillkill
I've got a bunch of stuff coming up in the next few
months, but don't consider anything "upcoming" until
it's at least in the can.

Like he says, Kentucky.
What is the sexiest quality a woman can posess?
I know it sounds cliche, but I really like a good
sense of humor. Nothing more exciting than a girl that
can make me laugh. Physically, I'd have to say I'm
into petite brunettes with small breasts and round
faces . . . even though it's not "correct" to like
physical types, that's just the way I'm wired.

Trent, enjoying the flavah of corn syrup and food coloring only moments before wanting to vomit from how horrible it tastes.
What film are you most embarassed of?
That's a tough one, considering my "career" to date.
I'd have to say KILLJOY 2 even though it made a ton of
money and actually seems to have fans. I think that it
had potential and could have been more, but just
didn't do it for me . . .
Are you a "glass half full" or "glass half empty"
person?
I'd have to say that I'm a "half empty" type. Kinda
ties into the whole "Hope for the Best but Expect the
Worst" mentality you need to make low-budget movies if
you ask me.

Trent, pushing his own intestines safely back into his ruptured abdomen where they belong.
Can you tell about your first kiss?
My first "real" kiss was pretty damn rad. I grew up in
a very rural area of western Kentucky and was hanging
out with a couple of trailer park girls - we were in
the woods smoking stolen cigarettes. It was the summer
before sixth grade and these chicks were kinda wild
for being pre-teens - I guess it's just what you do
when you're poor and somewhat ignorant. So my first
kiss was a 3 way girl/girl/guy make out session. Yeah!
Sadly, that was my first and last multi-girl
experience. I've been married for seven years to a
woman I've been with for fifteen years . . . but I'm
still holding out hope that it'll happen again at
least one more time

Left: Parker Lewis, Right: Trent
Little Known Fact: Trent has a longtime rivalry with actor Corin Nemec (now on Stargate SG-1 on the Sci-Fi channel) because Corin got the role of Parker Lewis on the early 90's sitcom "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" which Trent had been up for as well.
Did you go to prom, and if so, what did you wear?
I did go to prom. My girlfriend at the time wanted to
go, so I did. I just wore the standard tux - no big
deal.
What's one embarassing secret that you're willing
to share with us?
I'm a big fan of the movie HACKERS. Don't ask me why.

Re: Mr. July: Trent Haaga
Lol...like we need to ask him why he likes Hackers!
Petite brunette, small breasts. Duh!
Re: Mr. July: Trent Haaga
I know, huh? lol
For some odd reason, I like the film "Sneakers", it might have something to do with really hot blond River Pheonixes...
Re: Mr. July: Trent Haaga
Great choice! I love all of his stuff that I've seen so far... seems like he'd be a really cool guy to hang out with too (I could be wrong though... I'm basing that statement solely on the footage on the Troma DVD extras and this here interview... but I think I'm probably right.)
