I saw him at the Horro'Rama convention last year, he's funny.
Joe Bob is hilarious!! He had me cracking up when I was listening to his commentary track on I Spit on Your Grave. I read Profoundly Disturbing (once every year I decide to read a book) and it was loaded with useful information on some of my favorite films. He certainly knows his shit. Glad you selected him for March instead of Watson and Brody; two actors the horror community doesn't give a shit about. Ooooh, that was harsh!! But it's true though.
joe bob is an excellent choice!
i can say with a great deal of confidence that my world would not be the same had i never watched joe bob's "drive-in theater" as a youngster. those were some of the first b-movies i ever saw, and i loved them. back then there was no such thing as having "bad taste". before my friends all became the self-important, opinionated net nerds they are today...they would come to my house and worship at the altar of briggs.
i count joe bob's dvd commentary for "i spit on your grave" among the best ever done to date. it is the perfect balance of laughs, insight, and information. speaking of which...joe bob is overflowing with knowledge about movies. he is a walking b-encyclopedia. i've got all his books, and i agree that "profoundly disturbing" is truly one of the best books ever written about cult film (i should know because i have pretty much read them all).
hope he makes it to atlanta again soon. i'll be sure not to miss it this time.
Joe Bob is waaaay hotter than Adrien Brody or Barry Watson. I've had the biggest crush on him for as long as can remember. A guy who's as good looking as he is smart as he is funny. Oh yeah, and he likes Basket Case.
He's one of my biggest inspirations for writing. I hope one day to be one tenth as good as him...
Nice choice guys!

Ugh...I HATED monstervision. Not because of Joe Bob, he was the bright spot of the show actually. It was that the damn TNT people kept repeating the same shit over and over again. "Friday the 13th *insert part here*. Or "Ghoulies 1 and 2". I mean I'm sure they had more horror movies in the archive than that.
I remember them showing "Troll" once, which rocked, because I love that horrible horrible movie...
but yes, they did play alot of the same flicks over and over...
Joe Bob was the bright spot. I remember, long time ago, when I first saw Joe Bob's Monstervision, and long before I started doing horror journalism, that i was watching it and thinking to myslef,
"How the fuck does someone get into something like this, I mean, as a JOB?" lololol

I am gonna like having you here, M!
Joe Bob is awesome.
