Mr. January: Darrin Ramage

Darrin Ramage has done what many consider impossible; find a home for low-budget, gore-ridden horror films not only on the film shelves of such stores as Best Buy and Blockbuster, but also across the seas, bringing in actual profits for filmmakers and producers who spend their hard-earned money, time, and creative process on horrifying the public with their films. Darrin is the owner and founder of Brain Damage Films, which has distributed female-directed horror like Darla Enlow's Branded and Toe Tags, Katherine Hick's Knight Chills, Christine Parker's The Forever Dead, and a slew of female-produced, female-written, and female-centric horror movies. Better yet, Brain Damage owns the rights to the Traces of Death series, the best Faces of Death rip-off series out there AND the best movie ever made: Shower of Blood.

Darrin is often across the seas in exotic locales like Cannes and weird places in Asia where they sell movies and stuff, but at heart he's a family man who love spending time with those closest to him. He can often be seen with what I like to refer to as "crazy hair", as in, it's spiky or green or craazee! Aww... But don't understimate this sharp business man! He's crafty! And sexy! Meet Darrin...

What's the best movie Brain Damage has ever put out? 

Although we have released over well over 100 movies, the most successful film Brain Damage Films ever put out is DEATH FACTORY. I also am a personal fan of the film as it delivers plenty of my favorite…B & B (Blood & Boobs)…but it also has a cool story with a twist ending.  In fact because of it’s success not only in the U.S. but around the world, we decided to produce our first ever part 2… DEATH FACTORY: BLOODLETTING.

Took her to Tahiti.  Also, I am known for buying Roses for NO REASON, not because I fucked up or something.

Describe the "perfect date"... 

Pick my lady up by limo, drink C&C (Captain Morgan and Coke) in limo to small Italian restraunt, candle lit dinner, back into the limo drinking C&C on way to VIP seats and all access at ALICE IN CHAINS or SLIPKNOT concert, party with friends and meet new ones at concert, back into limo (my lady and I only) drinking champagne to my house, what happens the rest of the night at my house stays at my house!!!!!  That’s my perfect date!!!

Which is better in Cannes, France: The food, or the porn? Why?

The food in France is KILLER! Their porn…I am not into hairy (armpits, legs and pussy) women AT ALL!!!! Hardcore turn OFF!  So, French food wins!!

What upcoming projects do you have and what upcoming movies are you excited about for Brain Damage?

We always have a ton going on, that is for sure!!! 

1) We have EXTREME SCREAM TV show starting January 11 on Superstation WGN late night. It is a very cool ALL HORROR 30 minute talk show that will be showing shorts from around the world, discussing the new Brain Damage Films movies available, and much more. SPREAD THE GERMS & TUNE IN FOR SURE.  

 2) Back in September 2007, Chatsby Films (an award winning NY production team) approached us about and shot a pilot for a reality show about the happenings at Brain Damage Films; it’s called GOREHOUNDS!!  The trailer is on YouTube at http://youtube.com/watch?v=Pe4nFX7KKzY   

 3) Brain Damage Films on the production side has gone into post on DEATH FACTORY: BLOODLETTING which looks KICK ASS! We worked very closely with Cinema M3 on the production of FLESH COLLECTORS…need I say more about that one, the name says it all and it’s very psychologically twisted!  

 4) Brain Damage Films on the DVD side is releasing 4 movies per month!!!  Films like SATAN’S WHIP, TORMENT, FRIGHTWORLD and William Schotten’s SABBATH.

Darrin has just sold the rights to "Goth" to these Turkish sales reps in Cannes. However, in Turkish, "Goth" means "Virtuous Muslim Lady". Will they ever be surprised!
