The concept of the League of Extraordinary Paranormal Women has a seed in the comic book superhero teams like, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Justice League of America, Legion of Super-Heroes and the Justice Society. Even the title "Extraordinary Paranormal Women" evokes Marvel's X-Men. However, the characters in THIS League are Women and mainly from stranger then true paranormal reality, not comics.
the League of Extraordinary Paranormal Women is for Women, about Women, and supporting Women in all area's of the Paranormal fields including investigators, authors, writers, editors, artists, filmmakers, screenwriters, actresses, and musicians. Please don't mistake us, we love our Men, however we support all Women in the paranormal.

The Scream Queen-
Amy Williamson has been interested in the Paranormal from an early age, but began to formally research it at the age of 16. While earning her Bachelors of Art in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology and Communications, Amy split the remaining time between Theater and Broadcast Journalism which encompassed being an on-air radio personality for both WOCR and ParaWomenRadio.
In 2007 Amy Co/founded The League of Extraordinary Paranormal Women. The League highlights and profiles Extraordinary Women in the Paranormal! Each Thursday Amy Co/hosts ParaWomenRadio and gets the honor of speaking with Extraordinary Women in the Paranormal (paranormal meaning just not of the "norm") that includes psychics, paranormal investigators, natural healers, hypnotherapists, actresses, artists, writers and the list goes on!
Recently Amy was invited to be on WolfMan Mac's Nightmare Sinema, based in the Detroit area. Amy created her own character, wrote her script and has been asked back as a recurring character.
In 2005 Amy formed a paranormal Investigation group, Haunted Hillsdale. At the same time she began filming a documentary in which she profiles the group investigating haunted locations in Hillsdale Michigan. In addition to filming her documentary, Amy is an avid movie script writer in the genres of Horror and Off-beat Comedy, dabbles in local Community Theater (holds a seat on her local Community Theater Board), and has maintained a career working with Women in the Social Services field for over 13 years.
Amy is grateful to her husband, Ian, and her friends and family for all their support in her Supernatural endeavors.

The Psychic Medium-
Kristy is an internationally renowned Psychic Medium, on-air radio personality, wife and mom. Kristy is also the co-founder of the League of Extraordinary Paranormal Women that features women in the Paranormal and hosts a weekly radio show that highlights women in the paranormal!

The Paranormal Sister-
Shannon Overland has been fascinated by the paranormal for many years, only to have it repressed by friends and family due to religious dogma. In 2005 she began to merge her beliefs with her interests and a year later made an important step forward by joining Haunted Hillsdale, a local paranormal investigation group, at the suggestion of her sister. Shannon is interested in world travel, having toured extensively throughout Europe and residing in Norway for a period of time. She is a Certified Music Teacher and has been involved in her Community Theater since 1994, both acting and directing. Shannon wishes to thank her sister and best friend, Beth, for encouraging her to find her own truth.

We are making the big leap over to Para-X Radio. The move will happen on May 29th, upon Kristy's return to ParaWomenRadio. We will still be heard on the same night and time! This will give us time to announce, learn what the hell we are doing, and feel comfortable working a mixing board. I did it back in college, but i'm thinking this may be different.
Also they have a chat room that we will hijack during our show. Shannon will be moderator fielding questions from you for us!

I wanted to post some upcoming appearances and events for the League (both together and individual projects).
June 29th 2008, 1st annual Meet the Spirits Expo! A paranormal expo at the haunted Riders Inn, located in Painesville, Ohio. Meet the Spirits will feature speakers, vendors, and readers. Amy will be putting on a paranormal 101 class and selling her hand made Lucky Gnome pocket pendulums and jewelery! Kristy will be giving a psychic development class as well as have a table where she will be giving readings! For more info go here:

July 19th 2008 (from 7-9pm), Amy will be holding a Build Your Own Pocket Pendulum class (put on by Michigan Paranormal Encounters) at the Haunted Blackhawk in Richland Michigan. Design your own pendulum, learn how to cleanse it, program it, and use it in various situations (including paranormal investigations). A Victorian Haunting Experience harkens back to the days of the Victorian Spiritualism! We will be holding our special night at the Victorian Wyandotte Museum in Wyandotte Michigan. We will be talking about ghost hunting how to, ghost stories, hold a seance, and conduct a paranormal investigation on the Wyandotte Museum.
