HOUSE OF LEAVES! and people ask me how i can understand selby, the way he writes. danielewski (sp?) was so high concept and so all over the place, it was nutty. leaves is a book that you can't put down, not because it's so suspenseful but because *fuck help you* if you have to stop reading it for a day. i could never remember where i was! _________________ http://wb.imdb.com/name/nm1751788

| i read it with a bookmark and couldn't even find my place on the page! but it makes me so happy when writers know that where they place their words can have a lot to do with the way they are read. |

Mirrors
I liked it. The main set piece was excellent. Freaky shit if you've played the game Condemned! The cinematography was beautiful and the score added just the right mix of strings and brass to make a great visual and audio marriage. The story was interesting enough. It seemed a little too reminiscent of The Ring toward the end, but I can't fault any movie for not being 100% original. It's all in how you do it. I could've done without the CG moments, but otherwise the gore looked yummy. I especially liked the ending. It was a breath of fresh air to not witness the usual watered down Hollywood ending. _________________ Cinegore Pictures / YouTube / Degree of Blood / D-Pad Junkies |

Luther The Geek - A little boy named Luther watches a sideshow geek performing his act when he gets knocked over by a drunk redneck and loses some of his teeth because of it. 30 years later the boy is grown and is paroled from prison, he was there because he killed some people. He then starts again terrorizing a woman at her farmhouse. Its a very strange but well acted movie, and the guy who plays Luther is creepy. He doesn't speak, he only clucks like a chicken! _________________ Grittings. ma nam is Kahflin. Heeryor lunbox. Hoffa gud tay askool. |

I just saw the remake of The Women. very disappointing. not nearly as witty, funny, or well-directed as the original 1937 version. I thought it was very trite and predictable, and Meg Ryan is sorely unimpressive in it. _________________ "Safety First!" |

Annette Bening, Debbie Mazar, Debra messing, and Candice bergen and Chloris Leachman are GREAT! Meg Ryan is terrible, and so is Jaida Pinkett Smith. What really bothered me was how they made it into a "feel-good drama about female friendship" instead of a snarky comedy about the worst traits of bored, rich women, which is what the original was. I mean, Meg Ryan's upper lip is very stiff and sticks out in a way it never did before. It's distracting. It doesn't move when she talks.
Compared to Annette, who looks like she hasn't had a thing done and looks fantastic, Meg is scary. and kind of pathetic as a woman who can't let go of looking like a "girl", know what I mean? _________________ "Safety First!" |

I have heard good things about it, 'margot at the wedding'. It's the kind of role I love Nicole Kidman in: like when she played the older sister in Practical magic. She's good at being witty. Her playing innocent and intense is not as fun, in my opinion. _________________ "Safety First!" |

she and jennifer jason leigh both play against type, in terms of what you're used to seeing them do. i loved it. _________________ http://wb.imdb.com/name/nm1751788

| I have never liked Meg Ryan as an actress she seems to live her life off of romantic comedies, and that's all she has really done acting wise. The only movie I thought she was remotely good in was "The Doors" and that's about it. |
