"search forum"

I think that a "search forum" button would be really nice.
I don't know how to do that... but it would make posting a lot easier because you could quickly check if someone else has already started the topic.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been neglecting updating these forums on a regular basis and will try to implement that tonight!

when you get to a point where the forum has 30,000 posts, it really isn't viable to look through the individual posts to see who has posted what in the past...

The "Search this site" text entry at the top middle of the page will actually search all posted articles including forum posts. For example, for 'halloween', you can see forum posts plus article posts:

http://www.pretty-scary.net/?q=search/node/Halloween

It's a little clunky in that there is not currently a way to search only forum posts; so things are a bit mixed up. Also, the indexing the search uses doesn't happen immediately, so items very recently posted will not come up in a search.
