So, my guess (and not to speak ill of the dead, but to be really crass) if he wasn't shooting a movie there, the ONLY other reason anyone ever has any reason to go there is to be autoerotically asphyxiated by a 14-year old Thai girl in the closet.
So, let's hope he was shooting a movie and committed suicide, alternative being embarassing way to go.

I had the same thought (well, without the 14 year old Thai girl, lol). It just seems pretty damned strange for him to commit suicide, especially at that age, while his career is still alive. It's possible he got caught up doing something kinky and it just went too far.
He was, apparently, actually working on a film there, so the trip wasn't exclusively for sex tourism.

We just spoke to a rep for David Carradine, who claims the actor's death was not a suicide.
The rep said David's death was "accidental." And there's this ... the BBC is now reporting that David's body was found hanging with a rope around his neck and "other parts of his body."
Carradine's body was found nude, hanging in a closet.
David's rep added, "We can confirm 100% that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock."

Carradine's sexual peccadilloes were the focus of a divorce filing by his ex-wife, Marina Anderson. In Los Angeles Superior Court documents, Anderson described his erotic antics.
Carradine groped her in public and encouraged her to flash strangers by pulling her top off, the filing said. He also enjoyed the company of "people of questionable character," the court papers continued.
"It was the continuation of abhorant [sic] and deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly," Anderson's filing said.
In addition, Carradine's "deviate behavior includes an incestuous relationship with a very close family member, which permeated our marriage," she wrote.

The first thing that came to our mind when we heard about David Carradine’s death was not "kung fu assassins!"
But apparently, Carradine's attorney Mark Geragos is not of the same mind.
He suggested on Larry King’s show that Carradine’s strange suffocation by rope death – which according to TMZ now may involve fishnet stockings, a wig and red lingerie -- may have been the secret martial arts societies' way of silencing him.

A small Thai paper also has leaked what is apparently a photo of the death scene. I've seen it - it's very grainy, and is not very revealing, and could potentially even be fake. The one detail though is Carradine - or whoever is in it - appears to be wearing fishnets and a wig.
This whole thing is so messed up!
CAUTION: Some of the cheap foreign websites hosting this image are also hosting viruses. One of them just tried to crawl into my computer, haha.

Annnnnnnnd...just to finalize my journey to hell, here's the death photo from the Thai newspaper. I'm not embedding it - just so anyone who doesn't feel comfortable doesn't have to "accidentally" see it. I will say that's it's incredibly fuzzy and all "shocking" details are blurred out.
There is one important point; it appears in the photo he's wearing some sort of weird fishnet bodysuit. This is an illusion, from what I've read elsewhere. The Thai newspaper, in the desire to shadow out his physical nudity, photo-chopped the pattern over his entire skin. He's apparently nude hanging there, without the weird fishnet pattern.
