Got back a few minutes ago from the wrap party and saw a rough cut of the 2nd episode (which I shot) - yowza! It looks great, moves extremely quickly, and feels much more cohesive and less claustrophobic. It's still funny, but the episode also has a dark and more serious side to it.

It'll be posted online in 17 days.

This is fucking amazing. I love the colors and the lighting so much. I think the characters are so fun.

Most of the look was accomplished in post - the other DP shot it very clean, and I manipulated the hell out of it in FCP to get the look Mike (the director) wanted. The camera work (camera set up, compostion, blocking, coverage, etc.) for episodes 2 & 3 is very different, much more spacious and 3 dimensional, and looks more like a high end network TV show shot on location and less like a soap opera shot on soundstages.

Mixing the sound for the pilot was horrible - I greatly regret volunteering to do that, but Mike was really stuck after the guy who was suppose to do the sound mixing went AWOL.
