"'You can attack me, you can send assassins after me, that's fine. But nobody messes with my boyfriend.'- Buffy Summers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
The new Ghosthouse releases
Are they any good? I saw one has Amy Smart and the dude from Wings.
Monk rocks!!!!
My favorite Ghost House movie is 'Movie that wasn't made by Ghost House'
Well, speak of the Ghost, I just rented Drag Me To Hell and was amused to see the Ghost House logo. My take on the movie? Meh. Kind of a watered down Evil Dead. Using C.G. for the monster was just... well, lazy. Shit looks fake. But there was one point where I had to question myself. I got so bored with the movie that I actually picked up the remote and fast forwarded, and I was like... "Am I so fucking jaded that I can't even be bothered to watch what is considered to be the best scary movie in a long while?" Answer was yes.
And are you talking about House on Haunted Hill?
I forgot about Drag me To Hell. That's my fave!
LOL I was talking about Raimi's GhostHouse Underground movies. They just released "The Children" (I already know I want to see that one), Seventh Moon (the one with Amy Smart), and adaptation of Ketchum's The Offspring.
Wasn't sure if anyone had heard if they're worth renting.
Boogeyman 1 (mmm Barry Watson!) and 30 days of Night are my fave movies produced/distributed by the regular Ghosthouse label, though. I haven't seen Drag Me to HEll yet, although I'm itchin' too!
I love the guys from Wings. I loved that show. I even liked that late 90's remake of The Shining with Steven Weber. I still have a crush on Tim Daly....
is seventh moon the shit with that crazy ass looking guy in makeup on the cover that sounded really good?
Yeah. I actually like that cover.
I just watched Seventh Moon today and here's the deal, it would have been great. The plot is good, they've got nice looking demons and their use of Chinese myth and legend is fresh but, and this is a big but - It's to dark as in lighting, it's over-edited and the over use of shaky cam and blur is annoying! It's almost so dark it becomes a chore. But darned if this thing didn't have great potential. If you can get past all of these things listed here, it's worth the watch. Acting is fine, not great, but fine. Not to much chemistry between Smart and her hubby but they do turn out believable performances. *sigh* The darkness is just to much and so is shaky cam! On the other hand, I can't wait to see The Children, caught preview and have heard really good things about that one. From the previews it looks pretty rockin'!
I have been waiting for The Children since rumors started about it!
Oh, and Steven Weber isn't in Seventh Moon...despite having his name on the Redbox walmart movie things description. I was like...wah?
Are you serious? LOL He's listed on the credits but he's not in the film? Is there a dude who looks like him who is in it?
As far as The Children, I liked it!
I saw Seventh Moon last night. Wasn't bad...just WAY too dark. And they talked way too much. Other than that, I liked it.
I know, the darkness of that flick is a complete chore for viewing. Again what a shame because it would have been really cool otherwise. *sigh* I'm still throttled by netflix on The Children and I really want to see it. I'm going to read Tristan's review up there, hope no spoilers dude! lol
LOL I'm still stuck on the 'short wait' thing on Netflix too.
I'm tempted to just go buy the dang DVD. Tristan's review of it has me drooling.
Its a good movie. You will enjoy. Don't expect the most bestest movie ever, but it is fun and well-made and creepy.
That's all I'm a lookin' for Heidi! Yup, give me some well made creepy stuff and I'll be happy! I admit it, I'm easy and sleezy!
I love creepy kids, so I'm looking forward to it.

ash, have you ever noticed that the dudes from Wings are all like, amazing actors? Monk is one of my favorite tv shows. What are your favorite Ghost House movies?
