'Near Dark' on Blu-Ray Nov 10th!
Near Dark, Kathryn Bigelow's horror/western vampire action film comes to Blu-ray for the first time from Lionsgate on November 10th! Who knew Lionsgate owned it???. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), the film stars Bill Paxton and Adrian Pasdar. In a marketing strategy that could have come out of an arduous PR meeting at some boring office, the film's Blue-Ray release will coincide with that of The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
Country boy Caleb Colton (Pasdar) whittles away the quiet rural nights hunting local girls. When he falls prey to the mysterious and beautiful Mae (Jenny Wright, The Lawnmower Man), Caleb unknowingly becomes the hunted...
Mae is no ordinary girl, she is part of an outlaw band of vampires and their love is about to lure him into a terrifying world of bloodlust, mayhem and absolute horror. Will Caleb pay the ultimate price for love and eternal life or will he find a way to defeat the evil growing inside him each night...near dark?
See it in 1080P High Definition Widescreen with 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio and only for the low suggested retail price of $19.99!

I actually enjoyed this movie. Ending was sort of campy, but it was good.

I'd forgotten about the ending until you said that. The ending got awkward. The first 1/2 - 2/3 of the film is way awesome until they get to the entire transfusion bit, and then it makes me sigh.
The bar scene with them slaughtering the patrons to the backdrop tune of The Cramps version of 'Fever' is epics.
Yeah you can tell a woman
Yeah you can tell a woman directed it when it got to the end... the whole true love triumphs thing, ya know? (While i'm kidding, there is a touch of truth there.)
It lost a touch of satisfaction with that particular ending. I could see very easily new directions where Bigelow could have taken it, though, starting with the scene in the motel where the sister was taken hostage.
FINGER LICKIN' GOOD.
