My contribution to the Frankenstein mythos...
Ok, so this thread is called 'Shameless Self-Promotion', therefore I'll shameless self promote!
Since my documentary is still underway and the DVD compilation of my short films is not yet ready, I figured I would promote my most recent film project!
I recently contributed to an anthology project titled Frankenstein Unlimited, which premiere in early September in Montreal. A couple of weeks ago, we officially launched the DVD and it is now available online.
So, here's the deal: we were six filmmakers (5 guys, me being the only girl) and we each directed a segment that had something to do with the Frankenstein novel (either conceptually, visually, thematically, etc.) We could tackle any genre we wanted (the six films are very, VERY varied).
I wrote and directed the segment Reflection, which is a surreal drama (with horror elements) which metaphorically deals with the themes of social alienation and of 'what makes someone a monster'.
We've had great reviews for the project so far, but I thought I'd talk about it here as it is so great to finally have a community dedicated to the work of women & horror, and I want to leave my mark by sharing my work with you all!
Here is the trailer for my segment:

The film should be touring festivals soon, so I'll keep you all posted!
Until then, the DVD is also available to order on the website.

I am so sorry I haven't reported back on this! school has been kicking my ass! I can assure everyone that Reflection is pretty fucking intense.
