"'On August 29th, 1997, it's gonna feel pretty fucking real to you too. Anybody not wearing 2 million sunblock is gonna have a real bad day. Get it?'- Sarah Conner, Terminator 2: Judgement Day"
Happy Birthday, Gloria Steinem!
It sounds like a Judy Blume book, 'Happy Birthday, Gloria Steinem!', but its not. Its her 100th birthday!
Just kidding, it just feels like that. Its her 75th birthday.
Who is she?
Half her lifetime ago, Gloria launched Ms. magazine - a brazen and rebellious act of independence in the 1970s when the feminist movement was either denigrated or dismissed in the mainstream media - if it was mentioned at all. Today, Ms. is recognized as one of the top 51 U.S. magazines of all time
She's also super-pro-Israel and US involvement in Israeli defense, but that's just a side effect of being jewish. She's really important to the women's movement and to modern feminism.

I'm probably going to get kicked out of here for bringing this up, but Gloria Steinem was an operative for the CIA. The State found it next to impossible to control tribes, so they herded us into a lesser version of the tribe - the family unit. From there, they used various tactics to destroy that. One of them was turning the natural and logical women's rights movement into an attitude of women vs men. Obviously there was a lot of truth to the movement (some men are pigs), which is exactly why it worked. Now we are in the middle of the war on the individual. The State wants to address/control you directly, with no family to stick up for you, like in 1984.
Here's a mainstream, "authorized" excerpt from a magazine which tiptoes around the truth a bit (but not giving us the whole thing). This was written by Charles Trueheart on Feb 22, 2008 on Bloomberg(.com): "What of the patriotic volunteers? Gloria Steinem, the future feminist, has acknowledged that she worked for a CIA front, the amusingly named Independent Service for Information, whose purpose was to undermine a Soviet-bloc youth festival in Vienna."
