Don't know you guys have heard of this, but its been on the news here locally and nationally and well I was here when it happened. I was visiting my boyfriend in temple he isn't in the service, but its near Kileen and its about 20 mins away and fort hood is around there. Well I was designing my garden at his house he wanted me to help decorate his yard and I was about to go outside and leave my phone. The phone ringed and I didn't pick it up and I was going to ignore it pick it up later and than I got a text so I was like it must be pretty important. The message was "Go inside gunman on the loose lock the doors" Man I hate to say it but I felt like I was in a bad scary movie like I was in "Sorry wrong number" Well I looked the doors and haha you're not going to believe this but I actually got a big kitchen knife and went back to what I was doing.

I read to see what was going on and read the gunman had killed 13 people and was on the loose so I was like ok " I'm staying in this fucking house"

But the only rule is I went upstairs because that's where the computer is, but there is a window. Anyways who cares, but I kept thinking to myself what if that dude so me outside working in the yard and what would happen and what if I didn't take my phone and didn't know what was going on. I know its really unlikey, but I just kept thinking about that.

This upsets me a lot not only of the loss of life, but the stigma that it will bring to people of Middle Eastern decent especially those who are American. I remember I was friends with a girl who was Persian well she was half she was really pretty and we had a lot of things in common. We weren't really close or anything but we talked to each other casually whenever we ran into each other. She got so much grief after 9/11 they called her a terrorist and everything. I'm like "Its the same damn person you idiots!" She left our school and went to another school where she was harassed with this. I can remember I actually had a teacher that said we should monitor them. I was like really disgusted by that it just reminded me how racist some people are just because a couple of people did something oh they are represent a whole race of people. Not everyone is like that. Just like not every black person is on welfare or Mexican is an illegal.

Hopefully people will see the facts that this dude had some SERIOUS issues and he doesn't represent everyone who is Middle Eastern-American

sadly, it seems to be our nature to sterotype people as a defense mechanism. I guess the unconscious logic is, 'Better to be wrong about someone who is good than wrong about someone who means me harm'.

Sad. I feel so bad for everyone affected by this situation.

She didn't shoot to kill, as far as I can tell.
