Apparently, a small community of little people arose in China. They became an object of attention and even attracting tourists, with people driving by and snapping photos. They decided to exploit this and make some money, built up their little town with "mushroom houses" and the like, and dressing up like fairy tale characters. Now people pay them to visit.
They're now a mini-amusement park and making bucks!

as Julie Strain once said, 'No one else can exploit me if I'm exploiting myself'
Kudos to the little elves and dwarves!
