Catherine Hardwicke debunks the 'Dallas Howard/Lefevre' problem in 'Twilight'

So, lately Twilight fans have been crybabies because Bryce Dallas Howard (famous for being cute and Ron Howard's daughter) is taking over the role of evil vampiress Victoria (played by Rachel Lefevre in the first two Twilight films), and Twilight fans don't like change. It's been wondered why this change was made, but frankly - Howard is a much bigger star and that's all you need to know. Also, who cares?
Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first Twilight film, confirms that Howard was their first choice all along, but the role was too 'small' for her. That's why, in the third film, the role of Victoria has been built up and now Howard will deign to do it. Catherine spoke about it at the Teen Choice Awards on August 9th, and also talks about her latest project - a modern thriller based on Hamlet...

I wish. Kirsten Dunst can make any movie bad. Spiderman 3 was fairly awful already though - it was like, 3 movies in one.

When I get bored at work I make a mental movie of my own Spider Man 3. Mary-Jane has developed a drinking problem due to the trauma of having to watch her boyfriend fight mutants all the time and never being around. The booze makes her a tempermental and brilliant actress - kind of self-destructive. There are no villians in my version, but it ends with Bruce Campbell turning into Mysterio.

The combo of Kirsten Dunst and Bryce Dallas Howard plus emo!Spidey made Spider-Man 3 a black hole.
Hardwicke's comments though make Howard look like more of a douche-y diva though, ha. Remember when people thought she was going to be this great actress post-The Village? And then, she was staring in the 4th crappy installement of Terminator with ANGRY DIVA MAN™ Christian Bale? Ah, how the "mighty" have fallen.

reah, I still need to see T-4. Bale's meltdown tears probably short circuted Skynet. I thought Howard did a decent job playing "something pretty to look at" in Lady in the Water though.

Yeah Hardwicke's comments totally make Bryce Dallas Howard look like a douche-y diva. Howard is definitely more well-known but I guess its up for debate who is the better actress. I actually had heard of Lefevre before Twilight from the TV shows Big Wolf on Campus and her episodes on Charmed and Veronica Mars. Spiderman 3 sucked for a variety of reasons. I haven't seen T4 and don't know if I really want to.
