Aimee Lynn Chadwick ('Return of the Living Dead 4 & 5')

Aimee Lynn Chadwick; she's the star of Return of the Living Dead 4 & 5, which aired on the Sci-Fi Channel recently. She's also got a great band called Chasing Aimee, and she's a huge horror fan. In fact, no one wears blood like Aimee Lynn Chadwick. Nobody. "I love the horror community. It's a close-knit bunch of people. When I first moved out here I was into it on an underground kind of punk rock scene level...so not actually realizing how much there is to do until recently…Its like a family of people who dig the same thing. I like to show up at places and see familiar faces of people who are into the same bloody stuff I am..."

Aimee plays geeky and clumsy Becky Carlton in Return of the Living Dead 4 & 5.

Shooting these movies was a blast. It was my first "Lead" in a movie never mind 2 back-to-back movies that were shot in another country for 4 months. I conquered a lot of "firsts" in that time so I'm proud with what I did. Which was the best I could in that moment in time. Although I am a perfectionist, so, no matter what I can always do better. I feel like I did the best I could at that time. Given the circumstances, the material, the language barrier, and being in Bucharest!

So, tell us a story about dog poop. Do you have any?

A few I can recall had to do with rain. Kind of embarrassing, but it was down pouring severely and I had to run to my trailer quickly and try not to ruin continuity by getting too wet. Of course the combination of me, being graceful as I am, and the large quantity of stray dogs in Bucharest, you can imagine the outcome when my feet came in contact with a certain substance and I went sliding for a good 10 feet. It was all over my shoes and soooo disgusting. The wardrobe girls, God bless them, raced to my aid and helped me wash my feet off. It was kind of difficult not to laugh. Hmmm...I guess you had to be there. Another rainy story... The last night Peter Coyote was on set was when we were at the old communist prison. That was a rainy, crazy night. We get there and the weather is perfect. Once night hit, it started down pouring with insane thunder and lightning. It was straight out of a horror movie, however, scarier because it was the real thing! Knowing the past of this communist prison made it creepier. The crew put up a tarp to cover the set from the rain and all that did was collect the rain and eventually send a tidal wave of water onto the set. It was fantastic. We were all frozen, tired and drenched but it was fun.

So, what's all this about music?

My band CHASING AIMEE is a rock band with pop chorus' very lyrically driven songs. Basically, this band came about after I finished a solo album early last year that you can get on ITUNES now called GENERATION NEXT. At that time I was working with a producer and doing live shows all around Los Angeles. Some of the "hired" members of the band and I became really close. After, coming back from shooting ROTLD there were creative differences with the producer, and I wanted a more "real" band vibe. Got together with my bass and guitar player and we decided on getting together and seeing what we could come up with. We wrote our first song "something I can live without" in February 2005...and just have been continuing to get out there and play. Currently we are working on new songs to add to our 8. So I've been juggling both Acting and singing since I moved to L.A. 4 years ago. I love having the outlet of music when I'm not acting... Its very therapeutic for me. In addition to my band I also have little side projects of music that I dabble in...(THE CHARLES SHAW PROJECTS) and I lend my voice to friends of mine who are in the song-writing field and need session singers. I just love music.

Does Aimee like the original Return of the Living Dead, and it's sequels?

I loved the original ROTLD. That was my favorite one of the series. The main reason why I was so excited to be a part of 4 and 5. I also enjoyed 2. The 3rd, after watching a bunch of times, still haven't been able to "get into". My favorite scene from I is the old lady on the metal tray saying..."the pain..." with her tailbone slapping around and the spinal fluid dripping out. Of course, the half a dog cadaver and the naked punk rock girl dancing. I just loved that movie. I know 4 and 5 could never compare to the original because it's is just that: THE Original. Sequels always seem to be disappointing when people have such high expectations. That's why when you watch these; don't watch them to judge how different it is from the first. Its not supposed to be a remake! Just watch it to have fun and see the gore!! And you are sure to enjoy them.

High Hopes

In the future I see myself as a successful actress and musician, Oscar winner, Grammy winner...director/producer/wife/mother/writer/novelist/wine connessieur...um I could go on but I won't.

Talking about inspiration; who is Aimee inspired by, and how important is it to her to be inspirational?

I want to be someone that maybe someday young girls can look up too. Seeing that (like me) you can have a hard life, and come from not much...but if you want something bad enough just keep your eye on the prize and you will get it.
