Juliet Landau has now released her second film (her first was the dark music video Hero) Take Flight – a documentary focusing on actor Gary Oldman making a music video for the Jewish hip hop band 'Chutzpah'. Landau, who has appeared on the Tv series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and in the Tim Burton film Ed Wood, was asked to shoot a ‘making of’ for Oldman, a friend of hers, and the resulting footage became an experience all its own. Over 50 hours of footage, from a cell phone with POV shots to 3 cameras at once, were cut into this short.
We're happy to have Landau back with us again, discussing Take Flight along with her upcoming films The Yellow Wallpaper and Haunted Echoes...

We're super excited because actress/writer/director Juliet Landau's funny, cutting-edge short documentary Take Flight is out on February 25th, 2010. Landau's doc follows actor Gary Oldman as he shoots a music video entirely on his Nokia telephone. He asked Juliet to direct a behind the scenes "making-of" and her take on the ensuing madness bloomed into a documentary that is awesome.
“It’s like being inside his brain...seeing through his eyes,” says Landau, who reveals Oldman in a fascinating light: playful, funny, joyous, fluid, capturing his childlike exploration and an uncharted perspective on the artist....

Juliet Landau is known for being the vile vampiress Drusilla on Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spinoff Angel. But lately she’s been directing a horror-themed music video for Godhead called Hero, directing a documentary about Gary Oldman, and writing two issues of the Angel comic book for IDW that feature her character. Landau has appeared in all kinds of movies, from Tim Burton’s Ed Wood to her most recent appearance in a kid’s movie, but she’s a driving force behind the camera as well as has a very distinct creative vision. Juliet shares her latest projects with us...
