| ''Hollywood Whore'' by Papa Roach |
|
The not-so-subtle jab at freaky young Hollywood girls with drug problems and sex issues called "Hollywood Whore" is really intriguing. And it's gore filled!
Papa Roach’s newly released “Hollywood Whore” is a music video of brand new song from the band's 5th studio album, entitled Metamorphosis, which is due in early 2009 on DGC/Interscope Records. The song takes a swing at the out of control, young "Hollywood" tabloid queens that have made headlines over the past few years like Lohan, Hilton, and many others. Scary! Read on for the video itself...

| The incomparable Shirley Walker |
|
Shirley Walker began her career composing advertising jingles and music for industrial films in the 1960s. In 1979, she got her first big break in film music when she was hired to play synthesizers on Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now." She also composed several pieces for "The Black Stallion," along with lead composer Carmine Coppola. In the 1980s, she found work as a composer on such television series as Falcon Crest and China Beach, and lent her talents to such B-movie classics as 1985’s The Dungeonmaster and Ghoulies. In 1992, Mrs. Walker was hired to compose for "Memoirs of an Invisible Man," which appears to have been the first time a woman was retained by a major Hollywood studio as a theatrical film's sole composer. Then sometime in the 1990s she carved her niche with strong action scores in the superhero genre, lending her talent to Warner Brother's Batman animated series and films as well as a bevy of other superhero films on the big screen, the television screen, and in animation.

| Pretty-Scary Music Composers: Jaye Barnes-Luckett |
|
Harry Manfredini. John Carpenter. Danny Elfman. Bernard Hermann. I say these names and what the learned horror movie buff thinks of is movies like "Friday the 13th", "Batman", "Halloween", and "Psycho".
That’s all well and good, but what happens when I say, Jaye Barnes Luckett? Or Wendy Carlos? Or Angela Morley? What should spring to mind is “May”, "A Clockwork Orange" and yes, “Star Wars”! Wendy Carlos composed the score for “A clockwork orange” and Angela Morley is the co-creator and creator of such compositions as Star Wars, E.T., Equus, and Watership Down (the animated movie). That's some cool knowledge, yes? Read on, my scare-lovin' sisters!

| Shawnee Smith talks rock and her band Smith & Pyle |
|
 By Stacie Ponder
Having conquered the horror movie role thanks to her work in the ubiquitous Saw series as drug addict-turned-Jigsaw victim-turned-Jigsaw protégé Amanda Young, actress Shawnee Smith is taking some time to indulge in her other passion: making music. Smith formed country music duo Smith & Pyle with her actress pal Missi Pyle; the two recently celebrated the digital release of their debut album “It’s OK to be Happy” by giving a free concert at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles. Pretty-Scary briefly chatted with Smith before the show and got the lo-down on honky tonk, reality TV, and booze…in other words, good times.
