| New 'Twilight' posters & trailers! |
|
There are two new trailers/teasers and a new poster (click image to the left to enlarge) for the vampire/romance film Twilight, out November 21, directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on the book by Stephanie Meyer, with screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg.
Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart)'s mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands – and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? Read on to watch the new teaser/trailers!...

|
Supermodel-turned-genre director Rie Rasmussen has completed her feature film debut! EuropaCorp, Luc Besson's French film company, produced the thriller Romance the Dark, their second film with Rasmussen (her first is the horror short she wrote and directed called Thinning The Herd). As a witness and protagonist of horrifying events, Adria struggles to carve out a life for herself in a merciless world. Never free to plot her own course, she has a sense of trying to exist in a prison without bars. From air strikes in Belgrade to the underworld of Europe, from lust at first sight to just holding hands, Adria's attempts to find her balance and identity are constantly undermined by the violent and mostly male environments she cannot escape. It's not her game but she's learning fast... Romance The Dark is the first feature by multi-talented actress, model and artist Rie Rasmussen who made her debut in front of the camera in Brian de Palma's Femme Fatale and more recently starred opposite Jamel Debbouze in Luc Besson's soulful Angel-A.

All murders bear the same traits: a red-headed woman in a yellow dress, an internet connection, the victims' eyes sewn shut. As Tess becomes the next target in line, she finds herself seeking answers from Taku, an underground film dealer with the unsavory nickname of "freak boy" and the moral integrity of a rattlesnake. But showing up voluntarily at Taku's lair, Tess finds herself in even more danger than when she was on her own. If the two can survive each other, they may just be able to live through this deadly email. As the clock ticks and the body count mounts, the two must untangle the puzzle to stop "Watch Me" from its poisonous rampage.

| Cher is the new Catwoman? |
|
Director Christopher Nolan is already thinking about who will play Catwoman in his third Batman film. With the success of The Dark Knight, it looks like he can have anyone he wants! I know what you're thinking: Angelina Jolie (Too predictable?). Megan Fox (Too young?). Ali Larter (Not a big enough name?). Jessica Alba (Can't act for shit?). But it doesn't matter, because Nolan has already deciuded who he wants to play the feline, cat-suit wearing psycho.
Cher. This is not a joke.
"Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman," a studio executive recently said to British newspaper The Telegraph. "He wants to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."
Is it just me, or is Nolan retarded?

Featuring Ean Sheehy and Bruce Kronenberg
2008, www.spectaclegrinder.com
Edward and Barnabas sit at a table, eating what appears to be some very undercooked meat. Edward (Ean Sheehy) is dazed, confused, and looks a little sick. Barnabas (Bruce Kronenberg) has a hearty appetite and is more than eager to talk about Edgar’s recent loss. Edgar’s father was the owner of a pharmaceutical company who was found murdered by an overdose of his own experimental pain-killing drug. Edgar is the prime suspect, but it’s really Barnabas the police should be worried about. As Edgar slowly begins to realize where he is and what he’s eating, and with whom, a really macabre epiphany comes to him and the viewer – maybe he’s getting what he deserves...

| 'Ariel's Beginning' - directed by Peggy Holmes |
|
Allright, so it's not horror. But it is fantasy, and it is directed by a woman, and I adore The Little Mermaid (for crissakes, it came out when I was 11, what more do you want?). The Prequel to The Little Mermaid, Ariel's Beginning, is on DVD and it's directed by Peggy Holmes. If you ever wanted to see Ursula before she was a witch, Ariel's sisters hair in more details, and more fun stuff with mermaids, this is your chance. Check out the women who made this animated fantasy possible! Watch director Peggy Holmes talk 'Ariel's Beginning' and actress/singer Jodi Benson doing the voice of Ariel (she also did the voice of Tula on the cult animated series Pirates of Dark Water in the 80's).
